Harold W. Carpenter

Harold W. Carpenter, 79, of Coldwater, MS passed away August 16, 2019 at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Lena Leotta Carpenter of Coldwater, MS; daughter, Brenda Kay Bowman of Harrison, AR; sons, Harold W. Carpenter, Jr. (Erica) of Olive Branch, MS and Allen Carpenter (Christal) of Coldwater, MS; brothers, William Jefferson Carpenter (Carolyn) of Cordova, TN and Jerry Lee Carpenter of Portland, ME and grandchildren, Jerry Bowman, Jr., Amanda Carpenter, Ashley Carpenter, Emily Lyles, Kristopher Carpenter and Addison Borden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Elleen Carpenter; son-in-law, Jerry L. Bowman and brother, Richard Lee Carpenter. He was a member of First Baptist Church Coldwater and a veteran having served in the United States Marine Corp. Mr. Carpenter served as a Tate County Constable for 12 years, a member of the Memphis Police Department for 31 years retiring as a captain and Northwest Mississippi Community College campus police department for 12 years. Memorials may be sent to American Lung Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Services will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Coldwater, MS. Burial will follow in Forest Hill South Cemetery, Memphis, TN. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at our funeral home and on Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Coldwater.
