J.W. Lewallen

J. W. Lewallen, 96, of Senatobia, MS passed away February 20, 2018 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Desoto. He served during WWII and participated in the Invasion of Normandy. He retired from Baptist Memorial Hospital after 30 years of service as a mechanic and bus driver for the School of Nursing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joretta Lewallen; sister, Mary Katherine White and brother, Albert Lewallen. He is survived by sons, Jim Lewallen (Pat) of Germantown, TN and John Lewallen, Jr. (Susan) of Memphis, TN; grandsons, Dr. Brad Lewallen, Taylor Lewallen and Daniel Lewallen; and 6 great grandchildren. Mr. Lewallen was a member of Fredonia Methodist Church. For the past five years, he resided at Providence of Senatobia which became his new home and extended family. Memorials may be sent to Brooks Chapel Cemetery Fund (4112 Stage Rd, Coldwater, MS 38618), or charity of donor’s choice.
