Andrew Sheradon Merryman, born August 30, 1982, at Methodist Central in Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on June 28, 2025, at Regional One Health, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 42 years old. Andrew spent most of his life in Arkabutla, Mississippi, where he was a well-known face in the community. From a young age, he demonstrated a remarkable work ethic and mechanical skill, learning to operate heavy machinery at just 12 years old. This early start led to a successful career as a backhoe operator, with many years spent working on train derailments across the region. Affectionately known as "Handy Andy," he had an incredible talent for building and fixing just about anything—homes, cars, workshops, and more. His resourcefulness and determination were unmatched, and he was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Andy is survived by his beloved 10-year-old son, Cayden; his grandmother, Beverly Merryman; his parents, Cary Merryman and Lisa Cooper; and his siblings; Alyssa Allen, Brittney Dingman, Laura Watkins, and Evan Merryman. He was a proud and loving uncle to 13 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Erle Merryman, Joseph Burks, and Cynthia Burks. A private funeral service will be held at a later date with close family and friends. Andy will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him—for his work ethic, his generosity, and the countless ways he put his hands and heart to good use.
