Bennie Joe Smith

Bennie Joe Smith, 68, of Coldwater, MS passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023 at his residence.  Bennie is survived by his wife, Jeannie Smith; daughters, Sharon Rangel, Tena McDowell (Daniel) and Inez Witcher; mother, Inez Owen; sisters, Melissa Thomas (Kevin) and Theresa Hunter (Eric); brothers, Gary Owens and Ronnie Smith; grandchildren, Keith Rangel, Kevin Rangel, Kristopher Witcher, Kasey McDowell, Lillian Sykes, Keri McDowell and Kyleigh Waldrop; and great granddaughter, Sophia Rangel.  He was preceded in death by his father, Cordis Smith; step-father, Grover Owens; sister, Barbara Wilson; brother, Ricky Owens; grandson, Kent Rangel; and great granddaughter, Miracle Rangel.  

Bennie was a proud veteran having served in the United States Army.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VA Hospital.
