Betsy Lowrey Veazey, 94, of Senatobia, died peacefully on Friday, November 14, 2025. “Mama” was a member of Senatobia First Baptist Church and was the widow of Jerry Gold Veazey. She leaves her four sons and their wives, Jerry Veazey, Jr. and Anne of Oxford, MS; Lowrey Veazey and Debbie of Oxford, MS; Anndy Veazey and Cindy of Taylor, MS; and Patrum Veazey and Vickie of Brandon, MS; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Lowrey of Lewisburg, MS, and her identical twin sister, Ann Lowrey Graves of Sarah, MS.
Betsy attended high school at St. Mary’s Episcopal School in Memphis and attended the University of Southern Mississippi where she was a Dixie Darling and member of the Phi Mu Sorority. Friends and family will remember her witty sense of humor, her love of all forms of art, and her beautiful smile and blue eyes.
Memorials may be sent to Blue Mountain Christian University, 201 W. Main Street, Blue Mountain, MS 38610, which was founded by Betsy’s great-grandfather and where her grandfather served as president.
A private graveside will be held at Bethesda Cemetery.
