Bonnie Woolfolk Smith Obituary

Bonnie Woolfolk Smith, 86, of Senatobia, MS passed away February 16, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Desoto. Bonnie grew up attending First Baptist Church Senatobia and attended more in later years.  After marriage, she went to Hickory Grove Baptist Church Poagville, now The Grove. She taught Sunday School for years and loved singing in the choirs.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Smith; sons, Artie Smith (Tina) and Randall Smith (Teri); grandchildren, Alyssa Smith Hoshell (Chris) and Jordan Smith; and great grandchildren, Aiden Hoshell and Adley Hoshell; and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Robbie Woolfolk and sister, Judy Woolfolk Weeks and her husband, George Weeks.

Memorial Fund Update (3/5/2025) - Since so much love has been shown to our family we decided to pay it forward. And after a text followed by a few more messages asking if we were going to set up a memorial for my mom, I knew this was the right decision to choose. Mom loved her sister, Judy, dearly and they both loved Senatobia, Tate County and Northwest Mississippi Community College where Judy cheered and then, worked before she retired. Mom enjoyed taking swimming, computer and real-estate classes plus attending our ballgames there. Me, Randall & both of Judy's sons, John David & Bill, attended Northwest along with many other family members so there has always been connections. Their Dad, our Granddad, Wesley Woolfolk, even served as a security guard at NW for years.

So, we're requesting memorials be given in my mom's memory to help with the NWCC Foundational Scholarship that was set up for her sister, Judy Woolfolk Weeks, when she passed away five years ago in March. A minimum amount is required for scholarship funds to become endowed and that has not yet been met. Bill suggested that we ask the Foundation to consider adding my mom's name, too. So we met with them last week and it will now be in both of their names. Mom would be so honored to help this scholarship become a Lifetime Endowment alongside her sister

There are three ways to donate: 1) Mail check with note in memo "In Memory of Bonnie Woolfolk Smith &/or Judy Woolfolk Weeks" to NWCC Foundation, NWCC Box 7015, Senatobia, MS 38668 - 2) Call the Foundation Office at 662-560-1105 to pay by credit/debit card - 3) Go to https://www.northwestms.edu/about/foundation, click +Donate Online and enter "Woolfolk Sisters Scholarship Fund" in desired scholarship name and below note it’s a Tribute Gift in Memory of Bonnie Woolfolk Smith &/or Judy Woolfolk Weeks. Both families will very much appreciate your donations - Thank you!
