Charles Davis Oltremari

Charles Davis Oltremari, 59, of Coldwater, Ms, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 16, 2025.

Born in Greenville, Mississippi, Charles lived there before moving to Coldwater, Ms. He was affectionately known as “Smiley” by those in his hometown — a nickname earned by the ever-present smile that brightened his face and those around him.

A skilled welder by trade, Charles worked for many years at USG Interiors in Greenville. He later joined American Building Company (ABC) in Southaven, Mississippi, until its closure, and then continued his career at Milwaukee Tool in Olive Branch, Ms. He was known for his dedication, loyalty, craftsmanship, and quiet strength.

Charles had a passion for the outdoors and creativity. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking, and took pride in loom crocheting afghans for loved ones. He always had a do-it-yourself project in motion, using his hands and imagination to build, repair, and create.

He was preceded in death by his Mother, Charlene Evers Putman; Stepfather, James Coy Putman Jr.; Father, Paul P. Oltremari Sr.; and Great-Grandparents, Edrey and Bob Evers, and Rosa and Louis Oltremari.

Charles is survived by his sister, Paula Oltremari of Greenville, Ms; and his brothers, Robert Oltremari of Greenville, Ms, John Oltremari (Barbara) of Madison, Ms, and Paul Oltremari Jr. (Rose) of Manchester, Tn. Nephews Chazz Oltremari (Ashley), Brittany Knoll (David), Brooke Holmes (Brandon), Alex Oltremari (Britney), Erik Oltremari (Jacqueline), Hope Oltremari and Ashley Oltremari. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be scheduled at a later date, and family and friends will be notified once arrangements are made.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association.
