Charles William (CW) Gary

Charles William (CW) Gary, 82, born June 10, 1941, Eupora, MS – died peacefully on August 29, 2023 in West Memphis, AR. CW is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cathy Goode Gary; his children, Charles William (Chas) II and Donna Taylor Gary and Shawn Mitchell and Beverly Davidson Gary, and sister, Susie Gary Draper Lowe. CW enjoyed his 3 grandchildren, Gavin Mitchell Gary, Gunner Tucker Gary, and Asher Lee Marshall.

He is also survived by his cousins, Lydia Gary Duke, Loretta Lewers Thornton, and Jenifer Lewers Bashaw; nieces, Katy Lynn Draper Garber (John) and Allison Draper Gant (Eddie); nephew, Joseph Collins Draper, III (Sharon); great-niece, Olivia Gant Miller (Rickey) and nephews, Edmund Ravenel Gant, III and Joseph Gray Garber.

CW attended Northwest Community College and Ole Miss and joined the family business, Mitchell Oil Company.  He later established Coldwater Motors which encompassed many different businesses.  He was a member of Senatobia Church of Christ. 

CW made friends easily and always brought a smile to anyone he encountered.  His sense of humor made him unforgettable.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Jaco and Evie Mitchell Gary; his guardians, Howell Greg and Harriett “Dot” Pack Mitchell; sister, Kay Olivia Gary; his first wife, Pamela Meeks Gary, and brother, Howell Greg Mitchell Jr.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, September 7, 2023 at  Senatobia Church of Christ.

The visitation will be at 11:00 am, service at 12 noon with a reception following in the church’s multipurpose building.

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Senatobia Church of Christ, 4214 US-51, Senatobia MS. or the Dot Mitchell Endowment Fund at Northwest Community College, 4975 Hwy 51 N., Senatobia MS. 38668.
