Corine Dillard Obituary

Mrs. Corine Walton Dillard, the daughter of the late Hill Walton, Sr. and Lenora Herron, was born April 28, 1923 in Tate County, Mississippi. All of her siblings preceded her in death. At an early age, she confessed Christ at Shady Grove Baptist in Senatobia, Mississippi. She later in life moved to Como, Mississippi and then Sardis, Mississippi where she joined St. Matthew Church until her health failed. Corine wore many hats at Holiday Inn in Sardis, Mississippi and John Kyle State Park in Sardis, Mississippi as a maid. She also worked part-time as a housekeeper. She often opened her home and babysat. She loved her flowers and gardening. Fishing was one of her hobbies. She loved cooking for the family especially on special occasions. She had a witty sense of humor. She kept people laughing and always spoke wisdom to those who knew her. Corine was united in holy matrimony to J. C. Dillard, Sr. for 46 years who preceded her in death. To this union 13 children were born which 4 preceded her in death (Bella Dillard, Julie Dillard Laws, Brock Dillard, Jr., Dillard, Sr.) Corine departed this life on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Baptist Desoto Hospital.
