Darrell Rushing

Darrell Rushing, 73, of Independence, MS passed August 8, 2022 at his residence. He was a truck driver for over 45 years. He loved being around all his family and spending time with them. He was always so proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Darrell was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He knew he was ready to meet our Lord and now he is celebrating life!

He leaves behind his wife, Bessie Mary Clanton Rushing; three children, Cindy Lucas (George) of Independence, MS, Jim Sanders (Angie) of Hernando, MS and Stacy Leeton (Jim Holmes) of Olathe, Kansas; five grandchildren, Devin Sanders (Kathleen Schroeder) of Texas, Zachary Leeton (Savannah) of Independence, MS, Amber Leatherwood (Blake) of Independence, MS, Sierra Sanders (Ben Umberger) of Independence, MS and Tara Cook of Hernando, MS; two great grandchildren, Sadie Leeton and Tennessee Umburger; and sister, Nancy Smith (Fred) of Independence, MS. He also leaves a number of nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers for the service are Devin Sanders, Zachary Leeton, Blake Leatherwood, Ben Umberger, Kris Clanton and Cody Smith. Honorary Pallbearers are Mark Rhodes, Bob May, Ken Hatton, John Lucado, Harold Miller, Jerry Pope and Wayne Thomas.
