Darrell Simpson

Darrell Simpson, 78 of Jonesboro, AR passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Lakeside Nursing Home in Lake City, AR.

Darrell was born and raised in Piggott, AR. He graduated from Piggott High School and attended the University of Arkansas.

Proceeded in death by his parents, R.A. and Edith Simpson, brother, Dewon Simpson, grandson Jaxton Kennedy, and his beloved partner, Kaye Morris Simpson.

He is survived by his sister, Dian Foltz (John) of Jonesboro, AR, brother Doyle Dean Simpson of Batesville, AR, four daughters, Lacey Beach (John) of Southaven, MS, Stefanie Crockett (Matt) of Ponchatoula, LA, Alexandra Simpson of Jonesboro, AR and Nathalie Kennedy of Jonesboro, AR, fifteen grandchildren, Matthew Beach, Avery Grayce Simpson, Lincoln Bennett, Toby Crockett, Ryder Crockett, Lennox Jones, Foxx Finley, Fender Finley, Molly Finley, Jax Finley, Izzy Finley, Adaleigh Kennedy, Evie Kate Kennedy, Riggins Kennedy, and Reeves Kennedy. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Darrell was a dedicated Memphis Police Officer for 15 years. He even worked security at the Gates of Graceland during Elvis Presley’s funeral. After retiring from the Police Department, he opened his own Private Investigation and Bail Bonding Company. 

Darrell had several business come and go, but his favorite job was operating Amvets Bingo Hall at Bullfrog Corner, Horn Lake, MS. This allowed him to work alongside his family and best friends, as well as give back to the community through Amvets Charity, raising money for American Veterans.

Visitation will be held May 20, 2025 at 1:00pm and Memorial Service at 2:00pm at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia, MS.
