Edward Lee Bryant, Sr. Obituary

Edward Lee Bryant, Sr., lovingly known as "Ed," entered the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the age of 83. Having faithfully served the Lord throughout his life, he has now received his eternal reward.

Ed was born on December 4, 1942, in Montgomery, Alabama, to John Aldwin Bryant and Lois Katheryn Bryant. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and two precious infant daughters who were lost at childbirth.

For fifty years, Ed shared a loving and devoted marriage with his wife, Denise Russell Bryant. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service to others. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Denise; his son, Edward Lee Bryant, Jr., of Montgomery, Alabama; his daughter, Evangeline Bryant Harris and her husband, John Harris, of Madison, Alabama; and his grandson, Aaron Bryant of Montgomery, Alabama. He is also survived by his brother, John Aldwin Bryant, Jr., and his wife, Edna, of Simpsonville, South Carolina, along with many extended family members, dear friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ.

As a young man, Ed planned to attend Auburn University to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering. However, his plans changed when he was drafted into the United States Air Force, where he faithfully served his country. Throughout his life, he became known as a true "jack of all trades." He worked as a police officer, insurance salesman, school teacher, and bookstore owner. While each of these roles reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to serving others, the position he cherished most was that of minister and servant of God.

Ed was a man of unwavering faith whose greatest joy came from serving the Lord and helping others. Whether through preaching God's Word, offering encouragement, lending a helping hand, or simply sharing Christ's love with those around him, he lived out his faith every day. His life was a testimony to God's grace, and his gentle spirit, generous heart, and steadfast devotion to Christ touched countless lives.

Though his family grieves his absence, they rejoice in the assurance that he is now at home with the Lord he loved so deeply. His legacy of faith, service, kindness, and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.

"Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord." — Matthew 25:23

Ed will be deeply missed and forever loved until the day his family is reunited with him in the presence of their Savior.
