Edward “Lefond” Hardison, Jr., 63, of Strayhorn, MS passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2026. Lefond had many hobbies, including fishing, collecting watches and model cars, riding motorcycles and fixing up old cars.  Lefond was most passionate about the game of pool.  He spent countless hours around the pool table, where he found not only friendly competition, but also lasting friendships. Lefond was also known for his love of the color purple. While he wasn’t always the loudest person in the room, his purple shirts certainly could be.  Lefond dedicated more than 30 years of his career as a casino dealer in Tunica. He was a skilled dealer and worked with integrity and pride.  He was a guest favorite and well loved by his coworkers. Lefond was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Odell Hardison and his sister, Patricia Delancey.  Lefond is survived by his son, Lance Hardison (Leanne); grandchildren, Paige Sims & Parker Hardison; his sister, Liz Beard (Gregg); his brother-in-law, Robert Delancey; nieces and nephews, Heath Hawkins, Stephanie Williams (John), Audrea Williams (James), Justin Beard (Taylor) and Krystal Delancey (Kris); and several great nieces and nephews. Lefond will be remembered for his quiet strength and kind heart. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
