Elizabeth “Liz” Yount

Elizabeth (Liz) Harrison Yount, 68 of Strayhorn, MS passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 24th, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. Liz was a force of nature, full of life, quick with a word, and unforgettable to anyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Liz never met a stranger and never hesitated to speak her mind. She was a firecracker through and through: funny, blunt, fiercely loyal, and a friend to everyone she encountered.

Liz had a gift for conversation. Whether you knew her for five minutes or fifty years. Laughter followed her wherever she went, often paired with honest advice and a story worth repeating. Her bold personality and open heart left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path.

She was deeply devoted to her family and took great pride in them. Liz is survived by her husband George Yount, four sons: Josh Yount (Mandy), Jason Yount (Melinda), Jeremy Yount (Crystal), and John Yount; her beloved grandchildren: Megan, Ryan, Anna, Christian, Cade, Sara Jane, and Kaylee, 2 great grandchildren, Wyatt and Miley Beth, her brother Henry Harrison (Paula) and numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy and purpose.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joshua & Mary Harrison; her sisters, Lucy Greenhaw and Toxie Steadman; her brother, Terrell Harrison; her brother-in-law, Roy Greenhaw; her niece, Daphne Medders; and two precious grandchildren, Chloe and Ava Yount, whom she held forever in her heart.

Liz's legacy lives on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and all the lives she touched with her warmth and authenticity. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.

Services for Liz Yount will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Pate-Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia, MS. Visitation will be 12pm - 2pm with funeral services to follow. She will be laid to rest at Senatobia Memorial Cemetery.
