Faye was born in her family's home in 1941 in West Point, MS where she grew up with loving parents Donnie and Lois Holmes. Growing up she picked up her favorite past time, reading. After graduating from high school she traveled to Memphis where she received a bachelor's in nursing. She then moved to CA and worked for a short time before returning home to care for her ailing father. She then returned to Memphis where she married, earned her master's degree in nursing, and had a daughter. She worked at the VA hospital for over 30 years where she was loved by our veterans and the staff. It was at the VA that she was given her nick name of Fast-Walking Faye. During this time she realized her own childhood dream when her daughter expressed a passion for horses and she made their shared dream a reality. Over the years Faye and her daughter covered many miles on trail rides and went to horse shows throughout the US where they won many awards. After retiring she also added quilting to her hobby list and she gifted many of her creations. Faye also joined Life Point Church in Senatobia where she made friends who became family. She was loved and cherished by many and will be deeply missed. The world is a better place because she was in it.
She is preceded in death by her parents Donnie and Edna Holmes.
She leaves behind her Daughter Brenda (Gerry) O'Marra and many friends.
