Gail Wallace Veazey, 72, of Senatobia, MS passed away July 23, 2020 at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, TN. She was a teacher for 31 years and taught Sunday school at First Baptist Church Senatobia for over 25 years. She started girl's softball in Senatobia in 1973 and continued to coach, expand and direct girl's league each year until 2014. Gail played and coached adult softball until age 66 and played Senior Olympic basketball from age 50 up to age 70 (in 2017). She loved teaching and coaching kids. She was strict, but always loved the kids she worked with. She said "If I didn't care about them, I would just let them do whatever. But I care, and I want them to learn and be the best they can be."
Gail was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Veazey; father, Joseph Wallace and brother, Joseph Clayton Wallace. She is survived by her daughters, Annette Clanton Carson (Michael) of Independence, MS and Audra Jo Clanton Henson (Terry) of Senatobia, MS; mother, Beatrice Wallace of Independence, MS; sister, Sherryl Wallace Dickerson (Rivers) of Columbus, MS; brothers, Arthur Arnold Wallace (Anick) of Independence, MS and Gerald Lance Wallace of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Brik Waldrop, Tyler Waldrop, Cody Carson (Georgie), Lauren Carson Carlini (Domenick) and Leeah Henson King (Jacob); and great grandchildren, Ellie Waldrop and Ridley Anne Carlini. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association.
