Gene Smith

Gene Smith, 86, of Lake Cormorant, MS passed away Monday, April 15, 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital Desoto. He was a veteran having served in the National Guard. Gene retired from the Commercial Appeal after many years. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Kay Smith; sons, Samuel Gene Smith and Boyce McKay Smith; parents, Leon Clifton and Ora D. Smith; and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Paige Smith; grandchildren, Heather Spellman (Justin) and Haley Kogler (Greg) and great grandchildren, Parker Spellman and Paylyn Spellman.
