Geneva Blanton Obituary
Geneva Emma Lou Jones-Blanton, 88, passed away peacefully at home with her children on May 2, 2026, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love and family.
Geneva’s life was lived selflessly and sacrificially. She was passionate about her family and friends and was always looking for ways to serve them. As Romans 12:10 speaks of “outdoing one another in showing honor,” Geneva could always be found giving, sending a note of encouragement, cooking, or serving for the people around her. She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, church and her Eastern Star family. Her life was marked by her kindness, hospitality, and generosity.
In her final years, she enjoyed coloring, watching hummingbirds, and having morning coffee with her family.
She lived a beautiful, full life and was deeply loved by everyone she met, but especially adored by her late husband, and her family. She is now in Glory, whole and new, worshipping at the feet of King Jesus. Hallelujah, He makes all things new!
Born on September 3, 1937, in Tomato, Arkansas, to Reuben and Viola Jones, Geneva was the last surviving sibling of her family. On February 19, 1955, she married the love of her life, John Wayne (Jack) Blanton. Together, they shared nearly 67 years of marriage and built a large, devoted family including three children, Teresa Crockett (Gary), Laura May (Bob), and John Blanton (Gabriel), seven grandchildren, Justin Crockett (Melissa), Gavin May (Brittany), Bruce Crockett (Jessica), John Allen May (Austin), Phillip May (Tiffany), Emma Barnett (Tripp), and Anna Beth Ross (Clayton), and 28 great-grandchildren, Hunter Crockett, Katherine Crockett, Allison Crockett, Maggie May, Isaac Crockett, Madison May, Eli Crockett, Kinley May, Josiah May, Layton May, Levi May, Silas May, Keller May, Emerie Crockett, Grayson May, Haddon May, Lola May, Evelyn May, Blanton Crockett, Vivian May, Dawson May, Lillian May, Compton Barnett, Shephard Ross, Corrie Barnett, Scottie Ross, Carrington Barnett, and Archie Ross.
Family and Friends are invited to celebrate her life at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Monday, May 4, visitation is 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. followed immediately with service at 4:00. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
