Georganne Wiggers Smith
April 11, 1955 – August 4, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Georganne Wiggers Smith, who departed this life peacefully on August 4, 2025, at the age of 70.
Georganne was born on April 11, 1955, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Rev. Charles C. and Mary LeGrande Wiggers. She carried her family’s legacy of love, strength, and faith throughout her life.
After a fulfilling career, Georganne retired from Northwest Community College, where she was known for her dedication, warmth, and commitment to others. In her retirement, she found joy in life’s simple pleasures—knitting, fishing, and spending meaningful time with her family and close friends.
Georganne leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her four sons—Charles W. Grace (Amanda) of Sarah, MS; John C. Grace (Anita) of Coldwater, MS; William T. Grace (Linda) of Senatobia, MS; and James E. Grace of Senatobia, MS—ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and another great-grandchild expected soon.
She is also survived by her three siblings: John C. Wiggers (Lynn) of Kosciusko, MS; Frank T. Wiggers of Oxford, MS; and LeGrande W. Babb (Paul) of Pontotoc, MS. Additionally, she leaves behind seven nieces and nephews and one great-nephew.
Georganne’s strength, generosity, and unwavering love for her family touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be remembered not only for her kind spirit but also for the quiet wisdom and steady presence she brought to every room.
A celebration of Georganne’s life will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church. All are welcome to join in honoring her memory. A private burial will follow in Indianola City Cemetery, Indianola, MS.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Senatobia Animal Shelter, a cause dear to Georganne’s heart.
