Georgia Lou Powers

Georgia Lou Powers, 91, of Coldwater, MS and formerly of Leachville, AR passed away July 16, 2023. She is survived by her daughter, Paula Simpson of Coldwater; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Powers; sons, Robert Wayne Greenwall and John Mark Greenwall; son-in-law, Timothy Simpson; parents, Srick and Ada Hubbard; 6 sisters and 1 brother.

Georgia was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She loved tending to her flowers and grew a vegetable garden every summer. Georgia was quite talented with arts, crafts and needle work. She made many beautiful quilts and Raggedy Anne and Cabbage Patch dolls for her family and friends over the years. Georgia’s favorite past time was trail riding horses with her family. She was also a member of a bowling team and owned Georgia’s Copper Kettle in Coldwater, MS.
