Helen Jeanette Edwards Weddle Obituary

Helen Jeanette Edwards Weddle shed her wheelchair, and the shackles of this broken world, and ran into the arms of her LORD and SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST, this morning, February 11, 2025. Helen was born in Arlington, TN on October 28, 1938, to Paul and Nina Edwards. She grew up in Arlington, and graduated from Bolton High School, Arlington, TN, in 1956. Helen was a bright light, and her natural beauty and beautiful smile earned her a crown as Miss Millington in 1956. Around this same time, she met her future husband, Earl Weddle, while working as a Switchboard Operator at E. I. DuPont. Earl preceded her in death on October 22, 2018. They were married the day before Thanksgiving on November 26, 1958, at Bolton Methodist Church. She lived in the Memphis area until moving with her growing family to Midland, Texas in 1963. Helen excelled at everything that fell into her loving, and capable hands. She was a student of the Bible, growing in her love for JESUS the rest of her life, where she had the opportunity to share her love for JESUS as a Sunday School Teacher; She was an loving encourager to each of her three children until the last days of her life; She was a very successful custom floral designer during her days in Houston, Texas, having first developed a love for floral arranging in the local Garden Club in Brownfield, TX; and, She always maintained a beautiful, loving home where she welcomed family and friends with wonderful food, a beautifully appointed table, and always a loving smile on her sweet face. Mom truly had the gift of Hospitality. Her lovely Southern accent, laughter, and zest for life was truly infectious! There are so many wonderful qualities about our Mother, but when you read of the Fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5, you read an exact description of Helen. She will be missed by so many loving family and friends from Mississippi and Tennessee, to Kansas and Missouri, and, of course, her beloved Texas.❤️

Helen is preceded in death by her loving Husband of almost 60 years, Earl M. Weddle, her parents, Paul and Nina Edwards, and her older Brother, Paul L. Edwards.

Her loving family who mourn her passing are her children, Lynda M. Weddle of Senatobia, MS; Edward E. Weddle of Kansas City, MO; Cheryl W. Stanger (Scott) of Independence, MO; Grandchildren, Nathaniel A. Stanger (Danielle) of Kansas City, MO; Abigail L. Stanger of Brooklyn, NY; Harrison E. Weddle of Magnolia, TX; and Blake A. Weddle (Sydney) of Dallas, TX; Great-Grandchildren, Brenna L. Stanger, and Charlotte R. Stanger, both of Kansas City, MO; Brother, Charles M. Edwards (Lisa) of Senatobia, MS; Sister, Carolyn E. Hobson (Dean) of Hope, AR; her Sister-in-Law, Barbara P. Weddle of Somerville, TN; her Daughter-by-Another-Mother, Dee Phillips (Tom) of Andrews, TX; numerous Nieces and Nephews; and many loving Friends who have always blessed Helen’s life, and the lives of her Family.

A Memorial Service will be held at First Baptist Church, 465 Central Avenue, Coldwater, MS 38618, Friday, February 14, 2025, at 10:00am, and at the Graveside in Leavenworth, KS at a later date. Helen’s light for JESUS shines on, and She wants each of you, Family and Friends alike, to personally know her LORD and SAVIOR. The days in this fallen world are temporary, but a life well-lived for JESUS will bless you for Eternity! Helen lived it, and she now resides with her SAVIOR in her Heavenly Home! That is a Promise! She wants that same peace for You! Praise the LORD! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!! Hallelujah!!! We will see You again one day, Mother! Oh, Glorious Day!!!
