Iris T. Campbell Obituary

Iris Elaine Townsend Campbell was born in Marks, Ms on February 14, 1949 to Eris Townsend and Catherine Reese Townsend

Iris went to Northwest Community College where she graduated with a degree in business administration. She worked for the State of Mississippi in the welfare department where she traveled to many counties across the state. She worked in accounting where she worked at Montgomery Martin for many years. One fact about Iris that many people may not know is she applied for a job with the FBI and she got the job, but decided not to take the job.

Iris married the love of her life Tee Texas Campbell on June 30, 1972. Iris was a member of Harmontown Baptist Church. Iris loved church. She loved the fellowship with friends. Iris sang in the choir and also served on several committees at the church.

Iris was known as “Memaw” to her grandchildren. Iris was a gentle soul. She always saw the good in people. She was an amazing, mom, wife, sister, grandmother and friends. Iris loved music and sang in a gospel group when she was younger. More than the love for her family and friends, she loved the Lord and she wanted everyone to come to know Him.

Iris was preceded in death by her parents, Eris and Catherine Townsend, her sweet husband of 48 years, Tee Texas Campbell, and sister, Sharon Ruby.

Iris leaves behind her daughter, Kathleen LeClair(Mike) of Keller, Texas, and sons, Greg Campbell (Heather) of Como, Ms and Jonathan Campbell (Nikki) of Senatobia. She also leaves behind her brother, Lynn Townsend of Madison and sisters, Peggy Reese of Como, Druey Province of Clarksdale, and Brenda Horton of Batesville. Her grandchildren, Lane, Sidney, Patrick, Seth, Joan, Tyler, Molly Kate, and Jace. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family that she loved deeply.
