J.L. Beard, Jr., 90, of Sarah, MS passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his wives, Maxine Rushing Beard and Jo Newman Beard and stepson, Tommy Newman. He is survived by his sons, Gregg Beard (Liz) of Sarah, MS and Tommy Beard (Gabby) of Newnan, GA; grandchildren, Audrea Williams (James) of Sarah, MS, Justin Beard (Taylor) of Madison, MS, Seth Beard of Newnan, GA, and Charlotte Beard, of Newnan, GA; great grandchildren, Hunter Williams, Betsy Beard, Mary Phillips Beard, and Lucy Beard; stepdaughter-in-law, Laura Newman of Senatobia, MS; stepson, Wayne Newman (Barbara) of Senatobia, MS; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; bonus granddaughters, Aubrey Long (Forest) of Sarah, MS and Autumn Westmoreland of Coldwater, MS; bonus great-grandchildren, Tyler Gonzalez and Zoe Long his special little friend, whom he loved to share ice cream with. Memorials may be sent to Crockett Church of Christ where he was a member.
