James Ernest Wilkerson, Sr.

James Ernest Wilkerson, Sr., 78, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 13, 2025. He was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the United States Army. James Ernest was a member of Victory Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading and loved to spend time with his family.

James Ernest was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Wilkerson; parents, Bill and Robbie Wilkerson; granddaughter, Megan Cook, and 13 siblings. He is survived by his daughters, Nancy Whitehead (Alvin) and Cynthia Wilkerson (Joe); son, Ernie Wilkerson; sister, Robbie Jean Holliman; six grandchildren, Cacey (Philip), A.J. (Miranda), Allen (Ada), Kaitlyn (Michael), James and Matthew; and nine great grandchildren.
