Jimmy Edwards Obituary

A beautiful baby boy was born on January 15, 1954, to the late Alonzo and Gracie Edwards. I departed this life on January 18, 2024, at my home in Como, MS. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior at an early age at Cistern Hill M.B. Church in Como, MS.

I worked for Robert Orr Farming for many years until my health failed me. I lived a good life. I have done and experienced many things. Do not be sad, I’m okay now.

I really hated to leave my beautiful sisters, but I had to… I love each of you: Emma Edwards and Gracie Edwards, Sardis, MS; Ruthie (Eugene) Faulkner and Wrenetha (Leon) Faulkner, Senatobia, MS; Bobbie (Robert) Legge, Batesville, MS; and Mildred Crawford, Memphis, TN; and my loving brother Bemis (Etherlene) Edwards, Sardis, MS. I will be missed by my many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. My very special cousin Johnnie Edwards, and my dear friends Willie Faulkner and Earl Burdette, thank you for everything.

It was time for me to reunite with my mom and dad, my sisters: Esterlean Carter and Minnie Carlton; my brothers: Bullie D., W.J., Lonnie B., Tommy Lee, and William C. Edwards who preceded me in death. I have missed them so much.
