Jody Davis, 71, of Senatobia, MS, passed away September 4, 2021 at Corinth, Ms hospital after a prolonged illness. Jody was born in Lambert, MS to Herman W. Davis and Geneva L. Workman Davis. He grew up with his brother, Roy Simmons Jr. and sisters, Lola Simmons Cook and Cathy Davis Sexton. As a teen, he loved spending his time hunting, fishing, and carousing with his lifelong friend, Reid Elliot. Jody, Reid and Rabbit Ivy were always looking for fun and finding it. He was a veteran having served in the National Guard. His career and passion was farming and refinishing furniture. Jody and his three daughters loved spending time together, playing in the cotton trailers, and especially times visiting the levee on the Mississippi River. Being a kind and dependable father was of the utmost importance to Jody and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family. He is survived by his daughters, Dana Davis Myers, Felicia Davis Brewer and Paige Davis Crigler. Jody loved his four grandchildren, Kade Crigler, Christen Crigler, Cody Jenkins and Courtney Jenkins and his four great grandchildren, Carmen Jenkins, Gauge Jenkins, Chloe Jenkins and Ellie Crigler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Geneva and older brother, Roy Jr. Jody was a son, a brother, a soldier, & a father and most of all he loved Jesus. His journey to heaven was short, but his stay will be for an eternity. His ashes will be placed in the Longtown cemetery next to his beloved mother and father. Due to COVID, his memorial service will be at a later date. Memorials may be sent to the America Heart Association.
