John Joseph "Jack" Farrell Obituary

John Joseph "Jack" Farrell, of Coldwater, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at his home on July 31, 2026, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of service, craftsmanship, horsemanship, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends.

Jack was a proud Marine, a skilled tool and die maker, and a world-renowned horse trainer whose knowledge, dedication, and passion earned him the respect of horsemen across the country. Throughout his life, he built more than successful businesses—he built a legacy. His greatest professional accomplishments included Greyledge Farm, Jack Farrell Quarter Horses, and, later in life, J.A.C. Dexters. He took great pride in the animals he raised, the people he mentored, and the reputation for excellence and integrity that followed his name.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John and Muriel Ross Farrell, and his sisters, Muriel Farrell and Joan Farrell.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Carol Farrell; his sons, James (Lisa), John (Naomi), and Patrick Farrell; his daughters, JoAnn Farrell and Judith Santos (Douglas); and his bonus daughter, Mary Lynn Meyer (Alan). He is also survived by his brothers, Sgt. Major Daniel Farrell and William Farrell, along with a host of cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Although much of his family lived many miles away, Jack and Carol were embraced as family by the Lacey and Grosmann families, whose love, friendship, and unwavering support became a true blessing. They stood faithfully by Jack and Carol's side, offering comfort, care, and companionship, and remained with Jack through his final hours—a testament to the deep bonds of family formed not only by blood, but by love.

Jack will be remembered for his quiet strength, steady work ethic, generous spirit, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in his family, in the horses and cattle he loved, and in the countless lives he influenced throughout his remarkable journey.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
