John "Papa John" Harrell

John “Papa John” Harrell, 92, of Coldwater, MS passed away Monday, September 15, 2025. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time outdoors. John never met a stranger; he truly loved people and telling others about Jesus. Above all, John loved worshiping the Lord. He attended Highland Baptist Church. He is survived by his son, Tim Harrell (Loretta); sisters, Sallie Haworth and Eva Childress; grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Harrell Fletcher (Michael) and Judith Leann Buffkin (Dallas); great grandchildren, Lily Fletcher, Everly Irene Smithey, and Dax Stepp, and nephews, Robert Haworth, Robert Jones (Elaine), and David Jones (Angie). He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Kirby Harrell; mother, Johnnie Mae Harrell; sisters, Mildred Frazier and Sarah Jones, and brother, Charles Franklin "Buddy" Harrell. Memorials may be sent to Highland Baptist Church’s Annual Mission Trip Fund.
