Joyce Alsup was born April 29, 1954 in Baton Rouge, LA. She is the oldest of her siblings. She grew up in and around Baton Rouge her whole life. She graduated from Istrouma High School in Baton Rouge in 1973. She was an amazing artist. She was accepted into an art school, but chose to start a family instead, though art continued to show itself in her everyday life.
She loved spending time wither her siblings reminiscing about old times. And anytime with her grandbabies was her most favorite time. She was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and loved helping out anytime she was asked.
She is preceded in death by her father, Billy Joe Smith; her step-mother, Donna Marie Smith; and her husband of 29 years, Larry Curtis Alsup. She is survived by her mother, Sally Goss Grooms of Olive Branch, MS; brother, Larry Smith (Donna) of Walker, LA; her sister, Laura Smith-Olinde (Frank) of Little Rock, AR, and her sister, Angela Simoneaux (Peanut) of Olive Branch, MS. Her children, Corey Sibley (Eddy Hecker) of Coldwater, MS; Eric Sibley (Michelle Sibley) of Lebanon, MO; Destiny McMillen (Joseph McMillen) of Nesbit, MS; Dustin Robertson (Zane Robertson) of Coldwater, MS and her step-daughter, Christy Alsup of Southaven, MS. And her eight grandchildren, Madison, Hannah, Kenslee, Keighlee, David, Nicholas, Kristen, and Fallon.
