Katie Lewis

Katie Mae Lewis was born on September 15, 1944 to the late Irene Daniels and Will Leverson in Panola County. 

She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and became a faithful member of Mt. Level Missionary Baptist Church in Como, MS .  

She was united in holy matrimony to Jessie James Lewis, Sr. and to this union three sons were born.  She was preceded in death by three sisters, Christine Butts, Lucy Williams and Rosie Moorehead; three brothers, R.L. Boyce, Sr., Charles Boyce and Elmo Henderson.  

Katie was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was a friend and mother to the community.  To know her was to love her.  

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted husband, Jessie James Lewis, Sr.; three sons, Jerry (Martha) Lewis of Sardis, MS, Larry (Shannon) Lewis of Denver, CO and Jessie Jr. (Laverne Benally) Lewis of Denver, CO; seven grandchildren, Ronregis and Rodregis Lewis of Sardis, MS, Shameka (Meka) Lewis of West Point, MS,  Lexus Lewis of Las Vegas, NV, Erin Norwood of Denver, CO, Brittany Lewis of Washington and Lawrence Benally of Denver, CO.

Three brothers, J.D. Boyce of Como, MS, Willie C. Henderson, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that loved her very much.
