Krystal Dye Obituary

Krystal Lane Dye, 41, of Sarah, MS, passed away March 20, 2023.

Krystal was born to Tammy Hanson in late summer of 81’. She spent her early life living with her mother in and around Sarah MS. Tammy was married to Rex Dye sometime before Krystal’s 1st birthday. Krystal was a very loving child full of joy and excitement. She would often talk of times spent with her Aunt Peggy and her cousin Hope and her Papaw Barlow. When Krystal was around 5 or 6 her mother met Ronnie Hunt. Ronnie remembers the first time he met Krissy. He said that he was going to go pick up Tammy and little Krissy was standing there at the door asking “Are you here to see my momma?” in a sassy matter of fact way. Ronnie would go on to marry Tammy and Krystal gained two siblings in Jeremy and Jennifer Hunt. When Krystal was around 6 years old, her and her mother moved to Tipton County TN with Ronnie Hunt. During this time of her life, she started attending school in Covington TN. It wasn’t long before she met a little boy named Robert Cox who ended up being her 1st boyfriend. Robert said that he caught her once with some of his Hot Wheels. She was apparently taking these cars home with her to sleep with.

She was a rambunctious soul who was very passionate about her friends and loved ones. She met Shareese Nettles in middle school. She would often help Shareese with the opening of her locker and the two would go on to form a special bond. Krystal had a heart of gold but God forbid if you were ever to cross her because you might have had your feelings hurt as “Krissy” was not one to hold back what was on her mind and she did not mind giving you a piece of it.

In the spring of 92’ her younger brother Devan was born and in October of 94’ her youngest brother Austin was born. She loved her brothers Devan and Austin Hunt. She was quick to help out when Devan was hurt in a bicycle accident and placed in a half body cast. Her mother started running a daycare out of their home when Krystal was a teenager and Krystal was, for the most part, more than willing to help. She was good with kids and enjoyed seeing their smiling faces.

Krystal met Robert Jacome III while they were in high school and were married in the summer of 98’. She worked with her mother for Merry Maids and had a knack for cleaning. She could not stand to see a mess laying around. Her first child was born in October of 99’ and although she agreed to name him Robert Jacome IV after his father, she said that she was going to call him Lance, as that was the name she always envisioned giving her son. She enjoyed doting on her son, and it wasn’t long before she was calling him her little “Monkey Butt”. Her second child was born in December of 02’. Krystal was not so sure what she wanted to name her daughter. She thought maybe Destiny Lane, but ultimately decided on Lauren Ashley as Lauren was a take on the child’s paternal great grandmother’s name Loraine, and Ashley, which was derived from her close friendship with Ashley Bell. Krystal was overjoyed to have another baby to care for and it wasn’t long before she was calling her “Toots”.

She was so proud to be a mother and loved caring for her “Monkey Butt” and Toot Toots” no matter the situation. Whether it was Lance cutting his head after slipping and falling into the corner of the bathroom sink or Lauren getting a staff infection so bad that she had to be rushed to Le Bonheur Hospital. Krystal was keen on her children’s needs and never hesitated to do what was needed for them.

In the summer of 03’ she divorced her first husband and started the next journey in her life with Andy Chandler. The two were wed and she gained two stepchildren, Catherine and Olivia Chandler. About a year or so into their marriage, Krystal and Andy moved back down to Askew MS. Krystal enjoyed going on motorcycle rides with Andy. They would often take the kids to Arkabutla Lake and made some great memories boating and parasailing. Andy was a flooring specialist and Krystal was quick to pick up the trade. She enjoyed working with her hands and took pride in a job well done.

Her second marriage ended in 08’ and she and the kids moved back to Tipton Co TN. She did contract work with Lowe’s out of Millington TN during this time.

She met Jimmy Merriman sometime around 2011 and would marry for the last time. The two had a beautiful wedding and she just glowed in her wedding dress. She gained two more stepchildren that day with Morgan and Trey Merriman. She enjoyed doing flooring and construction work with Jimmy and spending time riding four wheelers with the kids.

She moved back to Sarah MS to live with her dad Rex around 2015. She always had a special attachment to this secluded area of northwest Mississippi and life always seemed to draw her back here.

She enjoyed spending time with her Mamaw Dye with whom she helped celebrate her 100th birthday just this past fall. She had a special bond with Mamaw Dye and could never get enough of her homemade pickles.

She enjoyed spending every minute she could with her grandchildren. She would just beam with excitement every time she saw Robby, Mia, and Nina. Krystal would spend every second she could with them and would often look after them.

She was thrilled and excited to be a “Maw maw”. As recently as last week, she threw an impromptu baby shower for what was about to be her 4th grandchild, Dallas. She was so thrilled that her baby girl was about to have a baby herself and could not wait to meet him and begin to love and dote all over again.

Krystal has left a lasting impact on all that knew and loved her. She was passionate about life, had a fiery spirit, a heart of gold, and would do anything for anyone…. well…..anyone that hadn’t crossed her that is. She loved music and dancing, and boy did she love to talk. She enjoyed spoiling her grand babies and taking care of her dad Rex. It is wonderful to know that she was building that special bond with her grandchildren before she passed.

She will be forever loved and eternally missed.
