Leon Warren, age 89, of Hernando, Mississippi passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 17, 2021. Leon was born December 7, 1931, in Olive Branch, Mississippi to Tressie and H. B. Warren. Leon is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pattie; son, Ricky; three daughters, Dianne Juba (Gene), Janet Davis (Tom), Michelle Wilson (Greg); grandchildren, Warren, Collin, Nathan, Van, Lexy and Isabella. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Warren; brother, Cecil Warren and his wife Catherine and parents, H.B. and Tressie Warren.
Throughout his life, Leon was a dedicated, and proud servant to his local community and country. Leon served as a U.S. Navy Sailor, launching aircraft from the flight deck of the USS Midway. In 1951, Leon began years of service as a founding member of the Senatobia Fire Department. Both Leon and Pattie were lifetime members of the First Baptist Church in Senatobia, MS. Outside of community service, Leon was an avid golfer carding 4 hole-in-ones over a lifetime on the course. He was a Mississippi State Graduate and a dedicated Bulldog fan. Together with his brother, Cecil, they carried on the family business their father started, Warren Electrical Contractors. His most joyful times, however, were those spent with family, especially his 6 grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Pate-Jones Funeral Home. A memorial service and celebration of the life will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pate-Funeral Home in Senatobia, MS. Graveside services will follow immediately after at Bethesda Cemetery.
