Leon David Steward, age 71, passed away on July 12, 2024. He was born on June 4, 1953, in Memphis, Tennessee, at Saint Francis Hospital, where his eldest son, Leon David Jr., was also born.
David is survived by his older brother Johnie Steward, his sons Leon David Jr., James, Brad, Steven, and his daughter Victoria.
David was a supervisor at H&S Incorporation, where he used his position to help many people in need by providing them with opportunities to work and learn valuable skills. He was also the innovative creator of the first 3D camouflage duck blind, showcasing his creativity and passion for the outdoors.
David was an amazing storyteller and jokester, known for his ability to share outlandish tales with witty spins that made everyone smile. His energy and brightness filled the room, he had a charisma that drew people to him and made them feel welcome. David will be remembered for his kindness and eagerness to help others, even when he himself may have needed help.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 18th at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Pate Jones Funeral Home in Senatobia, MS.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Shatterproof, a non-profit dedicated to transforming addiction treatment, ending its stigma, educating communities and families while advocating for policy change.
