Linda Faye Newton

Linda Faye Brooks Newton, 78, of Senatobia, MS passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024. She was born on March 13, 1946, to R.L. and Jessie Brooks in Vaiden, MS as one of nine children: Riley Brooks (Bernice), Robbie Anderson (Bobby), Ruth Ray (Melvin), Carolyn Sue Armstrong (Jerry), James Ray Brooks (Vonnie), Judy Lollar (Dwight), Betty Adams (Kenny), and Mike Brooks (Regina).

Linda married Gary Newton of Senatobia, MS on July 3, 1972. They had one daughter, Amy Brooks Newton Steinburg (Erza) and four grandchildren that she loved more than life itself. Her grandchildren are April Lavorn, Shannon Lavorn, Nathaniel Lavorn, and Christopher Lavorn.

Linda was a member of First Baptist Church Senatobia. She loved to sing to her Lord in the choir. Linda was also a master gardener and loved all plants and flowers.

Linda went to Holmes Junior College and Ole Miss where she earned a degree in early childhood development. She was a substitute teacher and later became the owner and operator of Kiddie Korner Day Care for over thirty years.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, R.L. and Jessie Brooks; husband, Gary Newton; brother, Riley Brooks; sister, Carolyn Sue Armstrong (Jerry), and brother-in-law, Melvin Ray.
