Obituary

Lindley Brooks Gaines, 21, of Coldwater, MS passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022. She is survived by her mother, Missy Gaines; father, Perry Gaines; brother, Grif Gaines and grandmother, Frankie Bryant Shows; uncle, Russ Shows (Shely) and cousins, Cashe, Crawford and Jack; uncle, Greg Shows and cousin Suede; aunt, Gay Lishman (Marvin) and cousins, Scott and Rob; uncle, Brad Gaines (Cindy) and cousin Jenny; uncle, Brent Gaines (Kelly) and cousins Parker, Davis and Hannah. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Hank Shows and Charles and Peggy Gaines and cousin, Sheppard Langston Shows. She attended Compel Baptist Church in Olive Branch, MS.

Lindley left quite a legacy. She loved her family unconditionally and her friends were part of her heart. She attended Magnolia Heights School for 10 years and was a graduate of Northpoint Christian School.  She was honored by her classmates by being selected to the Homecoming Court at Magnolia Heights School and was named class favorite each year that she attended Magnolia Heights and was named Miss Junior High.

God blessed Lindley as a talented athlete.  As a sophomore, she was named to the MAIS All-State Basketball Team, and as an eighth grader she received MAIS All-State Softball honors. Many All-District honors were received each year in basketball and softball. Also, at NCS, she played each year in the Final Four State Championship. Her teammates made her feel so appreciated and welcomed from the time she arrived there. Her coaches and teammates were such a blessing to her. After graduation and while attending Northwest Mississippi Community College, she was named to the President’s List.

We, her family, are thankful that God shared Lindley with us for twenty-one years and eleven months.

What a blessing she was to her family. And her grandparents, Hank Shows and Charles and Peggy Gaines are overjoyed to have her in heaven with them. She was a blessing!

Donations may be sent to Magnolia Heights School, 1 Chiefs Drive, Senatobia, MS  38668 or Northpoint Christian School, 7400 Getwell Drive, Southaven, MS  38671.
