Lisa Grey Crawford Edwards Obituary
Lisa Grey Crawford Edwards (affectionately known as "Lili") of Senatobia, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at the age of 70 surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born in 1955 in Louisville, Mississippi, but called Starkville, Mississippi, her hometown.
A dedicated student, Lisa graduated as Salutatorian from one of the first classes at Starkville Academy in 1973. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Mississippi State University in 1977. Her true passion was caring for others, which led her to obtain a medical technician degree from the University of Tennessee. She dedicated her career to this calling, serving for forty years as the supervisor of the blood bank at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Through her work, she touched countless lives with her expertise, compassion, and commitment to helping those in need.
A woman of deep faith, Lisa was devoted to her church and found great joy in Bible study and Scripture. She cherished God's Word and lived her life as a reflection of her love for the Lord, drawing strength and guidance from the Bible in all she did. Her favorite Bible verse was Joshua 1:9: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” For the past 13 years, she lived on her beloved farm in Senatobia, Mississippi, where she enjoyed bird watching and the peace that comes from living in the beauty of God's creation.
Lisa is survived by her mother, Mary Jane Crawford; her husband, Charles Edwards; her brother, John Crawford III (Charlene); her son, Jonathan Walker (Jessi); and two stepchildren Laura Matta (Jim) and Wesly Edwards. She was a loving grandmother to nine grandchildren who knew her as "Lili."
Lisa will be remembered for her sharp mind, her caring heart, her unwavering faith, and the quiet strength she brought to her family and her profession. Her legacy lives on through the lives she helped save, the family she cherished, and the faith she so beautifully embodied.
