Lou Vee Hudspeth O'Neal Obituary

Lou Vee Hudspeth O’Neal, 83, of Strayhorn, Mississippi passed away November 27, 2023 at home with her family. She is survived by her son, Michael Maurice O’Neal (Donna Red O'Neal); her grandson, Shawn Michael Maurice O’Neal (Jessica O'Neal); great grandchildren, Michael Prescott, Daniel Prescott, Jayden O’Neal, Madison O’Neal, Makenzie O’Neal, and Jaxon O’Neal; her niece, Cherry Smith (Ronnie Smith); family friend, Hooker Blend, and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice O’Neal; her parents, Raymond and Edith Hudspeth; her sister, Brenda Grace and her brothers, Turner Hudspeth, Lawrence Hudspeth and Earnest Hudspeth. Mrs. Lou was a member of Strayhorn Baptist Church where her memorial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2023. She was instrumental in starting up the Strayhorn baseball fields. She worked at Carter's in Senatobia, MS until it closed. Then, she opened the Strayhorn dairy bar, and started school for cosmetology. Later, she opened O'Neal's Food Mart. Over the years, she also had a craft store where she made and sold crafts, and opened a beauty salon. She was a woman of many talents and a business woman. She was strong willed and determined, but had a heart of gold when she saw a need.
