Marie Haven Carlton, 92, of Arkabutla, MS passed away June 1, 2023 at Oxford Health and Rehab. Marie was born September 16, 1930 to Vernon Lee and Wilma Barmer Haven. She had a love for genealogy and research. Marie was a member of the Tate County Genealogical and Historical Society where she was an editor for the Society’s publication, Tate Trails. She was also a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frederick Barnett “Fred” Carlton, Sr.; sons, Vernon Earl Carlton and Phillip Bruce Carlton; sisters, Ruth Glidewell, Evelyn Boling and Corrine Clark. She leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Frederick B. (Rick) Carlton, Jr. M.D. (Kay) of Oxford, MS; daughter-in-law- Debbie Carlton of Arkabutla, MS; grandsons Frederick B. (Eric) Carlton, III (Gin Gin) Christopher H. Carlton, DMD (Lyndsey), Benjamin S. Carlton (Courtney), Robert Earl Carlton (Nikki), Vernon Allen Carlton (Stephanie) and Joseph Henry Carlton; and great grandchildren; Nia, Fred, Hales, Lyle, Lilla, Brooks, Corban, Lane, Mackenzie, Payton, Jack, and Julia.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Oxford Health and Rehab and to Alice Hill for the wonderful care they provided to Marie.
