On January 16th, 1928, Marie Wade Dye was born to O.C. and Margie Wade. Sixteen years later she had a baby sister, Julia Wade Neal. On January 11, 1946, she married the love of her life, C.H. Dye. They had 4 children, Ann, Elton, Randy, and Brenda. Elton preceded her in death at age 13. After 57 years of a beautiful marriage, C.H. went home to be with the Lord. Randy, her son, also preceded her in death.
Marie was the proud grandmother of 8 grandchildren, one of whom preceded her in death, Chad Gill. She had 12 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren, one of whom is with the Lord, Maryellen Elizabeth Vaughn.
Over the span of her lifetime, Marie was faithful to her community and to her church she loved so much. She served as church secretary, WMU Director, Sunday School teacher, as well as teaching homebound Sunday School, and GA Director. She was also the organizer of the St. Jude Bike-A-Thon and a correspondent for the Tate County Democrat. Marie was a Christian example to many people she encountered over the years.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Ann (Vince) Gill, Brenda (Ruben) Riley, and daughter-in-law, Pam Dye, all of Arkabutla. Her sister, Julia (Homer) Neal of Southaven, and her niece and nephews. Along with a host of friends whom she cherished dearly.
