Mrs. Martha “Mema” K. Nida, age 81, peacefully left this Earthly life on Monday June 8, 2026, in Senatobia, Mississippi. 

Martha was born on August 12, 1944, in Forsyth County, Georgia to the late Earl Knight and Geneva Knight Garrett. She lived most of her life in Gainesville, Georgia, before moving to Senatobia, Mississippi in 2023. She worked for many years for Goforth Electrical Supply as well as City Plumbing prior to her retirement. Martha was a member of New Hope Methodist Church and a long time Civitan member.  She was also a member of the Lady Shriners. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Nida; daughter, Debbie Mitchell; father, Earl Knight; mother, Geneva Garrett; sister, Joan Knight, and brother, Cleburn Knight.

Mema is survived by her children, Rick Miller (Jenifer) and Raydel Burford (Brad); aunt, Mary Miller; grandchildren, Matt DeMuth (Olivia), Seth DeMuth (Marcy), Brayden Burford, Susan Miller, Dylan Miller, and Crystal Klemenc, and great grandchildren, Bryer DeMuth, Stacy Frady (Ben), Ethan Chatham, and Amber Chatham.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church, 4815 Dawsonville Highway, Gainesville, GA 30506 or your local Humane Society.  

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, GA with Andy Miller officiating the ceremony. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at New Hope Methodist Cemetery, Gainesville, GA.
