Mattie Hill

Mrs. Mattie Hill was born September 4, 1924 to the late Anderson Wilbourn and Pearline Wilbourn. At 98 years old, she departed this life on June 2, 2023 at her home in Como, MS. Mother Hill developed a personal relationship with God at an early age and was a faithful member of Beulah Baptist Church until God called her home. While she was a faithful member at Beulah Baptist Church, she served on the Mother Board and the Usher Board for approximately 52 years.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Abe Hill, Sr. who was also a member of Beulah Baptist Church and served on the Deacon Board until his death for 29 years. During their marriage, they had a total of 14 children.

She leaves to cherish her memory 4 sons, Pastor Roy Hill (Jean), Minister Jimmie Hill (Katherine), Willie B. Hill and Roosevelt Hill. She also leaves 5 daughters, Jessie Mae Howard, Dorothy Jean (Mack Orr), Willie Mae Lark, Gloria Perkins (Michael), Mary Hill (Johnny). She is preceded in death by her husband, Abe Hill, Sr., and sons, Abe Hill Jr., Sidney Hill, George Hill, Michael Hill and John Earl Hill. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Bernice Wilbourn, Texanna Green, John Henry Wilbourn, Sidney Mae Daniel, Willie Mae Jackson, Minne Pearl Wilbourn, Annie Nelson and Fred Wilbourn. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous friends. She also leaves a special friend, Deloyce Harris, who she loved dearly, who served as her caretaker until she passed peacefully at home. She also leaves Doris Love and Annette Patterson, who also served as her caretakers and Evangelist, Easter Wilbourn who often sought special spiritual guidance from her.
