Robert Louis Moore, Sr.

Robert Louis Moore, Sr., age 93, died peacefully on August 3, 2022. He was born in Memphis, TN on August 7, 1928 to Ernest and Agnes Moore. He married his love, Joyce Gwendolyn Moore on June 2, 1951.

Bob retired from International Harvester as a design engineer. He was a Reserve Officer for the Memphis Police Department and helped at the shooting range. He served in the Air Force and Naval Reserves in the photo lab. Photography was his hobby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest V. Moore, Sr. and Agnes Moore; brother, Ernest V. Moore, Jr.; sister, Agnes Ann Moore; and his loving wife of 69 1/2 years, Joyce Gwendolyn Moore. 

He is survived by his children, Theresa Thamer (Randy), Diane Moore, Joyce Cunningham (Robert), Susanne Medlin, Shela Roberts (Edwin) and Robert Louis Moore, Jr. (Angela); grandchildren, Angela Hinkle (Eric), Cathy Thamer-Bordlemay (Justin), Carly Donnet (Ignacio), Anna Pike (John), Nichole Geer Roberts, Meghan Medlin, Shawn Mullins (Alex), Robert Louis Moore, III (Jennifer) and James Michael Moore and great grandchildren, Madison Hinkle, Ella Grace Hinkle, Hannah Hinkle, Tristan Bordlemay, Peyton Bordlemay, Silas Pike, Taylor Roberts and Abbie Moore.

Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the American Cancer Society.
