Robert Byrom Welshans

Robert Byrom Welshans, 88, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Baptist Hospital Oxford. He is survived by his daughter, Trina Michelle Burkett (Don) of Union, MS; sons, Charles Robert Welshans (Diane) of Ripley, MS and Thomas Andrew Welshans (Emily) of Sarah, MS; sister, Bette Baker (Sonny) of Boerne, TX. Robert was surrounded with so much love by having 12 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Nixon Neese Welshans; wonderful grandson, Michael Austin Welshans; son, John Houston (JoAnna), and parents, Charles and Earnestine Welshans. Robert spent his life working in Aviation. After retirement, he earned his Doctorate degree as a Chaplin and worked for Hospice organizations in different locations across Mississippi. He was a proud veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps and retired from the United States Navy.
