Ronald Matthew "Matt" Smith

Ronald Matthew “Matt” Smith, 53, of Strayhorn, MS passed away Monday, May 12, 2025. He was the owner of Smith Tree Service for over 20 years. Matt loved riding motorcycles and going as fast as he possibly could in anything he drove. He was also a member of Strayhorn Baptist Church. He is survived his daughter, Mari Francis Smith; stepdaughter, Abbi Embrey (Ryan); parents, Ronny and Cherry Smith; sister, Melissa Parrish (Todd); nieces, Samantha Parrish, Kathy Hadskey (John), Presley Kate Hansford, Berkley Parrish, and Collins Parrish, and nephews, Stone Parrish and Hayes Hansford (Libbi Kyle). He was preceded in death by his son, Justin Laine Smith; stepson, Wills Woods; grandparents, Jack and Wilena Houston and William and Lorene Smith. Matt and his hilarious sense of humor will be missed by those that loved him. Memorial donations may be sent to the Mari Francis Smith Scholarship Fund at Magnolia Heights.

A graveside service will be held privately and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
