It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ruby Lane Mabray Spencer, whose warmth, strength and love touched all who knew her. She passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 2:00pm at home after a long illness surrounded by her family.
She was born on April 21, 1935, in Sarah, MS to the late Walter James Mabray and Florence Lugena Mabray of Sarah, MS. She graduated from Northwest MS Community College in Senatobia, MS. She worked at the Tate County Department of Human Services and retired after 31 years. She was a member of Strayhorn Baptist Church. Her activities included quilting, gardening, and spending quality time with her family.
Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, her husband (Thomas L. Spencer, Sr.) and her sister (Mary Lou Boling).
She is survived by her younger sister, Nora A. Carlisle and her three children-Thomas L. Spencer, Jr. (Lori Spencer), Delisa S. Parker (Donny Parker), Paula S. Pierce (Thomas Pierce) - who were the center of her world and pride of her life. She raised her family with strong values, compassion and unwavering faith. Her love only grew as her family expanded and she cherished every moment spent with her two grandchildren, Allyson Rae Parker and John Charles Spencer (Adisyn). In her later years, she was blessed with a great-grandson, Pierson Finley (Finn) Sartin. We also would like to give special thanks to her caregiver, Joetta Williamson, who she loved dearly.
Though she is no longer with us on earth, we find peace in knowing she is resting in eternal glory and reunited with loved ones and embraced by God's grace. Her services will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Longtown Cemetery. She will be deeply missed and loved forever.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:23
