Sammy Lee Wilbanks

Sammy Lee Wilbanks, 78, of Senatobia, MS passed away February 26, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Grace Sigler Wilbanks; daughter, Pamela Jean Bailey Branch; son, Rowland J. Whitsell (Patricia); sisters, Patty Blansett, Faye Bell (Fred), Sharon James (Kenny), Ann Luna (Kenneth), and Deborrah Jones (Roger); brothers, Bobby Wilbanks (Marybeth) and Mikey Wilbanks (Joann); grandchildren, Rachel Wilbanks (Chris), Crystal Waggoner (Mike), Christopher Fendley, Kimberley Alexander, Kristin Butterworth, Jessica Turner, Destiny Butterworth and Thomas Yankovic and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, R.C. and Emma Wilbanks; sisters, Brenda Johnson and Betty Jo Wilbanks; brother, David Wilbanks and brother-in-law, Wayne Blansett.

For most of his career, Sammy worked as a manager at Big Star in Hernando, MS and later was an employee of Extreme Auto Sales in Senatobia, MS. He enjoyed going out to eat with his friends and family and serving his church. He loved the Lord and cherished his family. Memorials may be sent to Highland Baptist Church where Sammy was a member for nearly 50 years.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Blansett, Rick Blansett, Dickey Blansett, Patrick Blansett, Paul Blansett and Chris Wilbanks. Honorary pallbearers will be Cooper Wyas, Trey Wilbanks, and Thomas Yankovic.
