Sarah R. Perkins Obituary

Sarah R. Perkins, 81, of Senatobia, MS, formerly of Sledge, MS, passed away on June 15, 2026. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a devoted teacher and taught at Strayhorn, Coldwater, and Memphis Schools. She also loved to line dance.


Sarah Perkins was a Saphire Sister of Alpha Delta Kappa, with membership of over 35 years. ADK honors outstanding women educators to advance educational excellence, altruism and world understanding. She served at the local, state, regional and international levels. Sarah served as Mississippi Alpha Delta State President as well as other offices. Regionally, Sarah served as Ways and Means and Fraternal Education chair. Internationally, she served on the Candidate Committee. Local level, Sarah was Chapter President as well as all other offices. Sarah had a gift for scrapbooking and was Historian on all levels of leadership. She was awarded the Athena Award on the state level and the Cornucopia award. Along with her ADK sisters, she delivered several loads of toys and pajamas to Le Bonheur and much needed supplies to the Ronald McDonald House.


Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Ruth Foster; sister, Rebecca Bradley, and brothers, Robert Earl Foster and Charles "Bub" Foster. She is survived by her son, Barry Perkins (Sarah); Sisters, Rubye Warington and Frances Hoffman; grandchildren, Levi Perkins (Renee), Cohen Perkins, and Nick Perkins, and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be sent to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.
