Timothy "Kirk" Purvis

Timothy “Kirk” Purvis, 57, of Senatobia, MS passed away April 16, 2023 at his residence. He is survived by his parents, Lowell and Helen Purvis of Senatobia; sisters, Martha Purvis Ross (Chris) and Marlo Purvis Grehan (Kevin) both of Hernando; aunts and uncles, Debra (Peter), Marilyn (Eddie) and Coley (Nancy); cousins, Chris (Cathy), Mark, Jamie, Justin (Billie), Robert and (Maggie), Zac, Josh, Kimberly (Will) and Lynda Lou (Steve); 6 nieces; 1 nephew and dear friends, John David of Heber Springs, AR and Amy Lyn. He was preceded in death by his Granddaddy and Nanny, Albert and Emogene Ross; aunt, Lynda Armstrong and Lur Armstrong.

Kirk was born and raised in Memphis, TN. He spent a lot of his years in Heber Springs, AR but later made his home in Senatobia. He was an avid coffee drinker and enjoyed cooking, especially breakfast which included his homemade biscuits. Kirk enjoyed fishing, particularly for small mouth bass. He absolutely loved watching old westerns, John Wayne being his all-time favorite. He loved Elvis Presley, old hymns, old country music, the Dallas Cowboys, his cousins that were more like siblings and his dogs, Lucky, Jake and Katie. One of his favorite past times was picking on his cousin's children and giving them a hard time any chance he got.

Kirk knew and loved the Lord fiercely. He found comfort in reading and dwelling over his Bible. He loved his church home and made it his business to ring the bell there. Nick Sandusky, Kirk’s pastor and good friend, will be officiating the service. Memorials may be sent to Arkabutla Baptist Church where he was a member. Although Kirk’s time here on Earth is finished, his memories live on and he has been made whole again. His family and friends will never forget the lasting impression he made and the smile they once knew. He was loved by everyone that knew him. As a gentle giant always said, “Praise the Lord”.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Arkabutla Baptist Church 8394 Arkabutla Rd. Coldwater, MS 38618.
