Timothy (Tim) Lee Jennings Obituary

Timothy (Tim) Lee Jennings, 69, of Senatobia, Mississippi, passed away peacefully at his home on June 30, 2026.

Tim was born on November 7, 1956, in Mendenhall, Mississippi, to Bilbo Jennings and Audrey Thames Jennings, both of whom preceded him in death.

Tim lived a life of service and hard work. Throughout the years, he proudly served as a police officer, EMT, paramedic, and truck driver. No matter the uniform he wore or the road he traveled, he was always willing to help someone in need. He believed in showing up when people needed him most, and he carried that spirit of service throughout his life.

To know Tim was to know laughter. He had a story for every occasion—stories that often seemed impossible to believe until someone else would chime in and confirm every word. His quick wit, unmistakable laugh, and larger-than-life personality made him someone people never forgot.

Of all the titles Tim held throughout his life, his favorite was Grandaddy AKA “Tim”. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. Though life was not always easy, the love he shared with his grandchildren was undeniable, and the memories they created together will remain in their hearts forever.

Tim is survived by his beloved wife, Delores Jennings; his daughters, Lori Rushton and Deana McGowen; his step-son, Charles “Chas” Veazey; his cherished grandchildren, Alexis “Lexie” Veazey, Crista Jennings, Robert Ethan Rushton, Elijah McGowen, Hayden McGowen, Graysen McGowen, and Maverick McGowen; his sisters, Brenda (Eddie) Thompson and Sue (Jimmy) Pevey; his brother-in-law, Herman McCrory; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Johnny Ray Jennings, James Franklin Jennings, Mary Alice McCrory, Annie Mae Stovall, Roger Jennings, Donnie Edward Jennings, Nannie Lee Merriman, Robert Cecil Jennings, and Mary Louise Jennings.

His family finds comfort in knowing that his work here is done, his burdens have been laid down, and he is finally at peace.

He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
