Tommy Lynn Murphree, born January 23, 1951, went to be with the Lord on April 3, 2024 surrounded by his family.
Tommy was a retired auto body mechanic and ran his own body shop and wrecker service for many years. He loved working with his hands, both on cars and with wood. He always had at least one project, if not twenty, he was working on at any given time. Tommy loved his family dearly and loved being a Papaw to all his grandchildren.
He leaves behind his children, Todd Murphree, Mandy Howe (Linn), Dana Sookraj (Carl), Tonya Murphree (Chad), and Jonathan Murphree; his grandchildren, Dustin Murphree, Shane Murphree (Michelle), Chelsea Murphree (Chris), Shelby Howe, Joe Murphree, Leea Daniel, Jeremiah Sookraj, Lilly Murphree, Beau Daniel, Emma Sookraj, AJ Sookraj, and Charles Edward Lane, and many great grandchildren; his sister, Cathy O’Bannon (Mike); his sisters-in-law, Janice Houston, Kay Whaley (Jeff), Cathy Gross, Wanda Gross, and Hazel Gross Nelson; his brother-in-law, Thomas Gross (Debbie), and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends that he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Murphree; his parents, Raymon and Louise Murphree; his brother, Raymon Murphree, Jr.; his son, Tracy Murphree; his granddaughter, Kayla Murphree Black, and his grandson, Matthew Howe.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.
